One surefire way to make a lot of gold is to sell everything. Sell absolutely everything. Every gray item you pass up is gold you are missing out on. If you get white items send them to your bank alt to sell later. These are trade goods and likely useful in leveling up many different professions.

Throughout your time leveling up to 85 it’s easily possible to make 20,000 gold by the time you hit level 85 just by selling everything. A lot of the time you can make more money by using the auction house and selling things for 1-5 gold a piece. This is a lot more than the couple of silver you get by venturing it.

The more professions you have at max level the easier it will be for you to make more gold.
