If you'd enjoy fire and be allowed to play fire though, then mages aren't boring.

It might be worth considering if you want to play a caster or melee DPS as well. Personally I find melee enjoyable but it is (debatable) harder to be competitive at times because some fights require you to spend a lot of your time chasing or running away. You know what it's like to be a caster so yeah, you know already!
Up to be the difference between holding your weight and topping the meters.If you wanted to play melee, I would say you can't really go far wrong with a rogue - three DPS specs, one of them is always going to be doing ok.
